Our Services
Our services are focused on supporting the office of the Chief Information Officer and business lines in understanding and managing their Information Technology environments. In doing so, the business will be able to rely on IT to support their needs, while keeping costs transparent. Our areas of expertise are:
1. IT Governance
IT Governance for oversight and compliance. Many organizations are challenged with defining their technologies, the cost of those technologies, and how the business is supported by them. IT Governance creates a framework for the organization to evaluate their applications and manage the IT budget with full transparency.
An IT Governance program allows an organization to reduce costs, increase the efficiency of the IT Portfolio, and have IT better support the business. They key to IT Governance is to create governing bodies that includes a large involvement from the business lines so that the business as a whole will concur on the IT environment and see its benefits. IT Governance can lead to IT Portfolio Management / Rationalization.
2. IT Portfolio Management / Rationalization
IT Portfolio Rationalization to reduce costs, increase compatibility, and right size IT products. Over the last couple of decades, technology has made large strides and we rely on technology for performing our daily activities. An organization can get lost in all of the various components; IT Portfolio Management/Rationalization helps the organization “see” all of its IT assets and make decisions on which can be migrated, combined, or completely replaced.
The goal of IT Portfolio Management/Rationalization is to ensure the organization is using IT in the most appropriate way to support their business while lowering costs.
3. Enterprise Architecture
Enterprise Architecture (EA) for business improvement. EA is the design and documentation of the people, processes, and infrastructure of an organization. EA is used to understand and make decisions on the current environment (for instance, to improve processes), and plan for a future state.
EA is a solid foundation for any organization. Other areas of IT and the business may use EA artifacts to make solid decisions, such as the Change Management program, or the 3-year IT Strategy. EA can be referenced when users need tools to work with, or to determine what policy dictates a certain process. There are may uses for an EA, and many ways to build – in phases – enterprise-wide EAs.
Ms. Coleman is experienced with various frameworks – including TOGAF, FEAF, and DoDAF – and various tools, including System Architect, Abacus, and Troux. We are passionate about developing Enterprise Architectures that can help an organization reach its goals.
4. IT Project Management
Program or Project Management to tie the IT Strategy to IT operations. IT Projects oftentimes require a manager to track and guide the project, while continually documenting changes in requirements, issues, and risks, and solving any problems that arise. Ms. Coleman is an excellent project manager who choose transparency to ensure the whole team, and the client, are abreast of all details.
